So, before Tessa was born, I would ask people with three children what it was like. The majority of the responses went something like.....it is crazy, but we love it. Now that we are three months into three kids, I think my answer would be the same.....it is crazy, but we love it.
These are days of constant laundry, the house being kind of clean but never all the way clean, lots of nursing a baby, starting something and having to come back to it later. There are moments of trying to calm a newborn, help a first grader with her homework and getting a four year old a snack all at the same time. Without a doubt, we are tired. And in the middle of what feels like a lot of chaos at times, is this.......
Our girls. Building a family. We are so thankful. The transition to three is intense, but am finding with the intensity comes even more intense love. I have loved watching the two big sisters welcome their little sister. I love already seeing the bond the three of them will share. And my husband, I don't even know what to say except he is the hero of our house and the love is deeper everyday. He is so selfless in his love for me and our daughter and it has been so evident during this time.
The transition to three has been as equally beautiful as it has been chaotic.
Right in the early days of welcoming Tessa and becoming a family of five, school started. We are well into the swing now, but here is what the beginning of school looked like for us.
Kyla checking out her first grade classroom at back to school night
With her teacher, Mrs. Strasser
First day of First Grade
These two.....how I love them
Newborn baby and school starting.....crazy days, but such sweet days
Running off the bus after her first day
Kyla and Ashlyn love to be back together when Kyla gets home
Next, it was Ashlyn's turn. Starting her second year at the Purdue Language Preschool.
Big girl.....so excited to be back at preschool
Walking up the steps by herself, something she couldn't do last year
Ready for some fun and learning
Hanging up her back pack all by herself
Waiting patiently to get her name tag
We transitioned through bringing a third baby home to two big sisters, starting school and are continuing to get into a groove.
It is crazy, but we love it.
