From school to summer

I was emotional for Kyla to start kindergarten back in August, but once the end of May came I was sad for it to end.  It was the sweetest year.  She had a wonderful teacher and loved going to school everyday.  I saw her grow and learn so much this year.

Before leaving for her last day

Sisters.....little sister will be so happy that big sister is home all day for the summer

Mommy and Kyla.....we made it through the first year of all day school

Getting off the bus as a 1st grader

We celebrated all the joys of our first kindergarten year and have jumped right into summer break.  Here are some of the things we are up to as the days are warming up.

We love to have a little garden in our backyard in the summer and the girls love to help daddy get it ready.

Kyla took ballet this winter and spring and as soon as school was out she had a ballet recital.  Once the big day got here, she had a fever and was not feeling well.  After lots of rest and medicine that morning, she was able to get through her recital.

Kyla has also been playing T ball this summer and Troy is helping coaching her team.  The two of them are having lots of fun.

Ashlyn thought it would be fun to see what it felt like to stand on first base.

The great thing about summer break is the freedom......freedom to spend our days more at ease, outside and taking as much time as we want.  For us, that often means getting out the kiddie pool and splashing in the sun.

Summer is the freedom to spend our days just being together.....

Sisters coloring.....

Spending lots of time at the park......

Reading in the afternoon....

Sidewalk chalk......

Riding bikes.....

Running around outside in our bare feet......

Lots of grilling.  The girls have a dress up grilling outfit with grilling accessories....Kyla was excited to use it to grill with daddy.

Spending mornings at swim lessons.....

There is no doubt about it, summer days are good days.
